Albert Eugene Mears

Funeral Service for Albert Eugene “Al” Mears, 88, of Muldrow, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Akins Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc. The family requests that all attendees wear a mask.

He was born on November 9, 1933 in Mobile, Alabama to Thelma J. (Jones) Mears and William Levin Mears and passed away on November 19, 2021 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He was married to Helen (Lowe) Mears on December 1, 1956 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on March 8, 2015. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a long haul truck driver.

Survivors are:

4 daughters, Janet Conley of Muldrow, OK, Donna Casey of Sallisaw, OK, Victoria Morgan of Roland, OK and Michelle Peters of Pryor, OK;

3 sons, Albert Mears, Jr. of Muldrow, OK, Richard Mears of Muldrow, OK and Robert Mears of Harrison, AR;

14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild;

2 sisters, Gay Hendrickson of Mobile, AL and Elizabeth Till of Daphney, AL;

1 brother, Arnold Mears of Meridian, MS;

1 sister-in-law, Janie and Joe Moore of Mansfield, AR;

and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Thelma Mears; wife, Helen; four sisters, Elaine McCraney, Shirley Mears, Francis Weaver and Teddy Mears; and one brother, William Mears.

Active Pallbearers will be his Grandsons and Great-Grandsons.

Viewing will be 1 – 8 PM Tuesday at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow, Oklahoma.
