Funeral Service for Albert Watie, Jr., 79 of Muldrow, Oklahoma will be at Noon on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Eastside Freewill Baptist in Muldrow, Oklahoma. Burial will be at Fort Smith National Cemetery at 1:00 PM under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc. The family has requested that masks be worn during viewing and service.

He was born on October 6, 1942 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to Tiny (Black) Watie and Albert Watie, Sr. and passed away on February 1, 2022 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was married to Susan Maxine Watie on October 11, 1967 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on October 10, 2013. Mr. Watie was a Veteran of the United States Army. He loved working with his hands and listening to gospel music. He enjoyed working on furniture and retired from Riverside Furniture after 33 years.

Survivors are:

1 daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Clinton Hixson of Muldrow, OK;

2 sons, Lawrence Monroe of Muldrow, OK and Christopher Watie of Edmond, OK;

4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren;

1 daughter-in-law, Ruth Monroe of Muldrow, OK;

and several other loved ones and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Maxine Watie; parents; one grandson, Jerome Garrett Hester; and four sisters, Willie Clarke, Vida Walker, Opal Hill and Daisy Mae Watie.

Active Pallbearers will be Joshua Hester, Juan Hester, Cody Black, Ricky Wann, Christopher Watie and Garren Michael Walker.

Viewing will be 1 – 8 PM Wednesday, February 9, 2022 and 10 AM – 8 PM Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Chapel in Muldrow, OK where the family will greet 6 – 8 PM Wednesday.
