Alice (Blackbird) Barnoski

Services for Alice Blackbird Barnoski, 71, of Vian, Oklahoma will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Barnoski Cemetery in Vian, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Alice Blackbird Barnoksi was born on October 21, 1947 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Lydia (Chunystudie) Blackbird and Tom Blackbird.  She graduated from Sequoyah High School.  She married Jim Barnoski, Jr. on January 28, 1971 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and passed away on May 22, 2019 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She worked at Greenleaf Nursery for 20 years, Cherokee Nation for 10 years and was a Habilitation Training Specialist for MediCor and People Inc. for 8 years.  She retired to enjoy her life with family and friends.  Mrs. Barnoski will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors are:

husband of 48 years: Jim of the home;

daughter: Ronetta Barnoski of Vian, OK;

son: Jimmy Joe Barnoski and wife, Gina, of Greasy, OK;

2 granddaughters: Summer Barnoski of Vian, OK and Jackie Duncan and husband, Clint, of Stilwell, OK;

2 grandsons: Christopher Bunch and wife, Shonda, of SC and Jordan Turner and wife, Lora, of Lyons Switch;

9 great grandchildren and 1 on the way: Leandra, Ryan, Sydra, Koda, Avery, JJ, Chole, Brody and Payton;

numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces and one very special great great niece: A-Ma-Ya Proctor

She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers: John, Thomas and Ollen Blackbird.

Pallbearers will be Joe Smith, Scotty Thompson, LeRoy Webber, Johnson Proctor, Larry Webber, Clayton Osborn and Thomas Young.

Viewing will be Noon – 8 PM Saturday, 2 – 8 PM Sunday and 10 AM – 4 PM Monday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, Oklahoma where the family will greet 4 – 6 PM Sunday.
