Funeral Service for Arthur “Cotton” Carter, 87 of Gore, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 20, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Gore, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at White Cemetery in Gore, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on October 12, 1934 in Gore, Oklahoma to Callie (Thomas) Carter and Albert Everett Carter and passed away on December 15, 2021 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was married to Marina Page Carter on April 6, 1957 in New York, NY. She preceded him in death on February 3, 2010. Mr. Carter was a heavy equipment operator and a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was also a rodeo judge, referee, communication tower builder, Marshall, 32nd Degree Master Mason and proud Shriner.

Survivors are:

Daughters: Terry Ferguson and Tex of Gore, OK, Rene Sallee and Danny Walker of Gore, OK, Brenda Slape of Muskogee, OK, Tina Young and Bryan of Fort Gibson, OK and Nena Cameron and Joey of Gore, OK;

Grandchildren: Tina Imler, Nada Sinclair, Brian Ferguson, Johnnie Ferguson, Bobby Brown, Justin Han, Natosha Hall, Chad Sallee, Tiffany Ellison, Trenda Mullen, Heather Yerby and Raymond Yerby, II;

26 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren;

Brother: Jimmy Claude Carter of Gore, OK;

Numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, son: Davo Carter, son-in-law: Scott Slape, grandsons: Brad Tullos, Travis Tullos, Brent Carter and Howie Ferguson, parents, sister: Beatrice Carter, brothers: Perk Bryson, Pete Carter and John Carter and 2 infant siblings.

Active Pallbearers will be Brian Ferguson, Bobby Brown, Justin Han, Chad Sallee, Justin Mullen, Derek Ellison, Raymond Yerby, II, Brendan Ferguson, Blayde Ferguson, Dakota Andrews, Brockman Warren and Bryce Easley.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Danny Walker, Jim Risley, Lee Crum, Aaron Gage, John Bryson, Tex Ferguson, Bryan Young and Joey Cameron.

Viewing will be 10 am – 6 pm Saturday and 2 – 8 pm Sunday at Agent Millsap Event Center in Gore, OK where the family will greet 4 – 6 pm Sunday.
