Funeral Service for Avis W. Jackson, 96, of Muldrow, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at First Assembly of God Church in Muldrow, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Blackjack Cemetery in Muldrow, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on December 6, 1926 in Brent Community, Oklahoma to Minnie (Rogers) Jackson and Ben Tony Jackson and passed away on August 3, 2023 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was married to Opal Fern Jackson on February 4, 1946 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on February 2, 2012. Avis was a United States Army Veteran, a farmer, rancher and carpenter.

Survivors are one daughter, Donna Newberry and Jerry of Prim, AR; four sons, Jerry Jackson and Wanda of Fort Smith, AR, Jimmy Jackson of Muldrow, OK, Larry Jackson and Tammy of Fort Smith, AR and Gary Jackson and April of Maple, OK; 10 grandchildren, Stacy Royse and Darren, Dana Stewart, Christie Galloway and Dale, Jeffrey Jackson, Alisha Giminez and Gus, Randi Koprovic and Aaron, William Ramsey and Rachel, Travis Jackson and Jessica, Cheryl Sewell and Rodney and Colby Watson; 23 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Opal Fern Jackson; and two grandsons, Coby Watson and Tyrel Jackson.

Active Pallbearers will be Jerry Jackson, Jimmy Jackson, Larry Jackson, Gary Jackson, Jeff Jackson, Jerry Newberry, Braden Royse and Chance Jackson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Norman Cartwright, Harrell Lee, Tony Yates and the men of Eastside Holiness Church.

Viewing will be 1 – 8 PM Monday at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow, OK where the family will greet 6 – 8 PM.
