Funeral Service for Bernice Wilkins, 89, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Sallisaw Church of Christ in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Sallisaw City Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
She was born on June 10, 1931 in Marble City, Oklahoma to Clara Elizabeth (Perry) Ford and William Emerson Ford and passed away on February 5, 2021 in Vian, Oklahoma. She was married to Doy Dan Wilkins on December 14, 1956 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on May 20, 2019. She was a retired telephone operator for Southwestern Bell, a member of the American Legion and a member of Sallisaw Church of Christ.
Survivors are:
1 daughter: Nancy Dockery and Greg of Ft. Smith, AR;
3 grandchildren: Ryan, Landry and Caidan;
2 sisters: Eldee Miller and Freeman of Springfield, MO and Sue Suttle and Robert of Sallisaw, OK;
3 brothers: Bill Ford and Linda of Sallisaw, OK, Cliff Ford and Gloria of Hartford, AL and Johnny Ford of Tulsa, OK;
1 sister-in-law: Betty Fenton of Stigler, OK;
several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Clara Ford; husband, Doy Wilkins; two sisters, Betty Joe Sanders and Sylvia Stephens; and three brothers, E.B., Ronnie and Wyatt Ford.
Active Pallbearers will be Chris Fenton, Kevin Fenton, Brian Ford, Kurt Stephens, Reagan Rhodes, Ryan Dockery and Caidan Dockery.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Curtis Stephens, Robert Suttle, Fred Fenton and men of the Sallisaw Church of Christ.
Viewing will be 10 AM – 8 PM Tuesday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK.
