Betty 'Beth' Jean (Haug) Woodman

Betty “Beth” Jean Woodman died peacefully at home in her sleep on February 19, 2023 at 92 years, 7 months and 5 days. Mrs. Woodman was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Lulu and Chester Haug. She married her first husband, TSgt. Lawrence B. Whitaker, Jr., in 1949. Being a military family, they moved often living in Germany, Las Vegas, Nevada, Cheyenne, Wyoming, Rome, New York and Vian, Oklahoma. In 1984 she married George Woodman.

Mrs. Woodman worked as a salesperson and a travel agent. She also played the organ for more than 25 years at Bartlett Baptist Church in Westmoreland, New York. She served as a volunteer fire police office for the Westmoreland Fire Department. She is a member of the 12-step Fellowship Church.

Mrs. Woodman was preceded in death by her parents, Lulu and Chester Haug; both of her husbands, Lawrence Whitaker and George Woodman; her brother and his wife, Ronald and Maxine Haug; a daughter, Wendy Kierpiec; son-in-law, Daniel Brauer; one nephew, Randy Haug; and four infant grandchildren.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Ellen and Donald English of Vian, OK, Rev. Meri Whitaker of Vian, OK, Bill and Jeanne Whitaker of Healdsburg, CA, Patti Brauer of Vian, OK, son-in-law, Joseph Kierpiec, Melani and James Davis of Vian, OK, Laurie Whitaker-Gassaway of Hulbert, OK, and Elsie Welch of Vian, OK; 16 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and eight great-greag-grandchildren.
