Graveside Service for Bill Barnes, 90, of Muldrow, Oklahoma will be at Noon on Thursday, April 2, 2020 at Upper Camp Creek Cemetery in Muldrow, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
He was born on June 1, 1929 in Roland, Oklahoma to Betty Lou Russell Barnes and William Lonzo Barnes and passed away on March 29, 2020 in Roland, Oklahoma. He was married to Melba (Tabor) Barnes on October 31, 1947 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on April 1, 2019. He worked at First National Bank of Ft. Smith for 33 years and was a former Town Clerk of Muldrow for many years. He was a member and deacon at Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Roland, Oklahoma. He joined Calvary MIssionary Baptist Church in 1966 where he was a member and a deacon for about 54 years.
Survivors are:
1 daughter: Maurita Lynch and husband, Kenny, of Muldrow, OK;
2 sons: Jim Barnes and wife, Dana, of Farmington, AR and Bill Barnes and wife, Kathileen, of Muldrow, OK;
8 grandchildren: Eric Barnes and Sarah, Kristina Green and Brad, Michael Barnes and Susanna, Kendra Cowan and Shawn, David Lynch and Elizabeth, Ryan Barnes and Talisa, Heather Brown and Jeremy and Jennifer Barnes;
18 great-grandchildren: Jack, Sophia, Cruz, Gracie, Parker, Finn, Linus, Eliana, Kiara, Chesney, Benjamin, Kalyx, Dawson, Eli, Abby, Lexi, Landon and Tanner;
1 sister: Betty Wallace of Ft. Smith, AR;
1 brother: Teddy Barnes and LaDonna of Wichita, KS.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Melba; his parents; 6 brothers, Roy, Edgar, Elmer, Lester, Paul and Jack; and 2 sisters, May Bryant and Bessie Tabor.
Honorary Pallbearers will be The men of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, his grandsons and Ted Hansen..
Viewing will be 10 AM – 4 PM Tuesday and 10 AM – 4 PM Wednesday at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow, OK.
