Funeral Service for Billy Bryan Southern, 85, of Muldrow, Oklahoma, will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 7, 2024 at Eastside Freewill Baptist Church in Muldrow, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Memory Garden Cemetery in Muldrow, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
He was born on April 28, 1939 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to William and Beulah (King) Southern and passed away on June 3, 2024 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was married to Marie (Fostnaught) Southern on June 26, 1959 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Bill was employed at Kansas Milling Company for 12 years in Wichita, Kansas and retired from Rheem Manufacturing after 30 years. He was a master mason for 55 years and was a two time worshipful master of Lodge #30 Bruton achieving a 32nd Degree Mason status. Bill was a member of Eastside Freewill Baptist Church. He was an avid master gardener and could grow anything and had the blue ribbons to prove it. He enjoyed feeding the family and mostly giving his harvest away. He was a huge OU Fan and enjoyed camping and fishing at Brushy Lake, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors are three children, Joe and Debbie Southern of Muldrow, OK, Anna Borchers of Muldrow, OK, and Billy and Tammy Southern of Roland, OK; three grandchildren, Megan Davis-Wilson, Kyle Borchers, and Austin Southern; five great-grandchildren, Trevor and Bryson Lasiter, and Sydney, Huston, and Ayden Davis; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Shannon Southern and Bryan Lasiter; six brothers, Willard, Gene, Dale, Sid, Don, and Gary Southern; and four sisters, Maxine Hardwick, Shirley Henson, Joann Brown, and Joyce Lewis.
Active Pallbearers will be Austin Southern, Kyle Borchers, Larry Dyer, Richard Watson, Dwayne Brown and Dennis Brown.
Honorary Pallbearers will be The brothers of Bruton Lodge #30 in Muldrow, Oklahoma.
Viewing will be 10 AM - 8 PM Thursday at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow, OK where the family will greet 6 - 8 PM.
