Graveside Service for Bobbie Joe Thomas, 91, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 15, 2023 at Lone Elm Cemetery in Columbus, Kansas under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on December 7, 1931 in Scammon, Kansas to Lela Gussie (Scott) Thomas and Samuel Alfred Thomas and passed away on September 10, 2023 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He was married to Hazel Marie Collins on July 13, 1952 in Pittsburg, Kansas. She preceded him in death on January 26, 2016. He was a retired educator, a veteran of the United States Navy and of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors are one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon Kay and Robert Neeley of Olney, TX; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Korin Thomas of Sallisaw, OK; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren with two on the way, and one great-great-granddaughter; two brothers, Billy Thomas and Samuel Thomas; and several other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Marie (Collins) Thomas; one daughter, Sheila Marie Thomas; his parents, Samuel and Lela Thomas; one brother, Lewin Thomas; and two sisters, Darlene Rapp and Barbara Golden.

Active Pallbearers will be Scott Reed, Nathan Walka, Wade Mays, Ricardo Rodriguez and Brandon Commons.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Christopher Thomas and Joshua Neeley.

Viewing will be Noon – 8 PM Thursday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK where the family will greet 6 – 8 PM.
