Bobby 'Bob' Barbee

Funeral Service for Bobby “Bob” Barbee, 81, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Calvary Temple Church in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Akins Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Bobby “Bob” Barbee was born on June 14, 1941 to Ethel (Keith) Barbee and Leonard “Ted” Barbee in Sallisaw. He passed away on December 19, 2022 and was of the Baptist faith. He attended Central Public Schools where he later became a teacher, coach, principal, and superintendent. He touched many lives during his 33 years of service, all at Central, and took pride in serving the Central community.
Bob came from a musically talented family. He mastered both the banjo and bass guitar. Bob was in a band during his early years and played bluegrass music throughout his life with his family. After he retired from Central, he enjoyed visiting with his coffee buddies at Ed’s Truck Stop and later at Ruger’s. In his older years, Bob cherished the simple things in life like conversation with a good friend and quality time with family.

Survivors are two daughters who followed in his footsteps and are both educators at Central: Melony Francis and Greg Fulford of Sallisaw, and Tammy Barbee of Sallisaw; one grandson, Taylor Davidson and Danielle of Sallisaw; one granddaughter, Andi Daniel and Jacob of Claremore; one great-grandson, Tripp Davidson of Sallisaw; and a host of cousins and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard “Ted” and Ethel Barbee.

Active Pallbearers will be Mike Allen, Steve Carter, Taylor Davidson, Tommie Denton, Danny Keith and D.C. Keith.

Viewing will be 10 AM – 8 PM Tuesday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK where the family will greet 6 – 8 PM.
