Carilyn (Chuculate) Locust

Funeral Service for Carilyn (Chuculate) Locust, 75, of Marble City, Oklahoma, will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at House of Praise in Marble City, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Flute Springs Cemetery in Marble City, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

She was born on August 3, 1949 in Marble City, Oklahoma to Daisy (Johnson) Chuculate and Steve Chuculate and passed away on April 18, 2025 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She was married to George Locust. He preceded her in death on January 28, 1997. Carilyn lived a life rich in love and dedication, both to her family and to her work as a health care provider. She was a proud speaker of the Cherokee language, which was not only a testament to her heritage but also a reflection of her commitment to preserving her culture.

Survivors are four sons, George Locust, Jr. and Jannette of Brushy, OK, Bobby Locust and Jessica of Muldrow, OK, Kevin Locust of Marble City, OK and Anthony Locust of Marble City, OK; one daughter, Alicia Farris and companion, Billy Hernandez, of Marble City, OK; 19 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Watie Chuculate and Gwen of Sallisaw, OK; three sisters, Lucy Scoggins of Sallisaw, OK, Nellie Chavez and Raymond of Sallisaw, OK and Pauline Pettit and Clifton of Marble City, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Steven Locust; one grandson, Walker Locust; husband; parents; and one sister, Ruby Bailey.

Active Pallbearers will be Jess Locust, Heath Rouell, Hunter Copeland, Ryan Farris, Ryan Copeland and Connor Green.

Honorary Pallbearers will be her sons, George Locust, Bobby Locust, Kevin Locust and Anthony Locust.

Viewing will be Noon - 8 PM Tuesday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK where the family will greet 6 - 8 PM.
