On the night of May 30th, Cary Alan Mathews, passed away unexpectedly. Cary was a loving husband to Jean, his wife of nearly 40 years, and a dedicated father, papa, son, bonus dad and friend.

Cary grew up in West Tulsa and Gore, OK and eventually met his true love, Jean, while attending college at NSU in Tahlequah. They were blessed with 3 wonderful children and 3 sweet grandchildren. After moving from their hometown of Tahlequah, Cary and Jean ventured to Northwest Arkansas for many years, and most recently lived in Springfield, MO.

In his free time, Cary enjoyed traveling around with Jean, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, OU football, and being the #1 groupie for his favorite classic rock band. Most importantly, Cary was always there for his grandchildren, supporting them through all of their band competitions, concerts, softball games, and late night phone calls.

Cary is survived by his loving wife, Jean, of 40 years, Daughter Jennifer Lombard and Husband Ryan of Broken Arrow, OK, Son Jeremey Mathews and Wife Tiffani of Fort Gibson, OK, and Daughter Julianne Donathan and Husband Derek of Fayetteville, AR, Grandchildren Michael Henson, Riley Donathan, and Connor Mathews. Cary is also survived by his Mother, Twilla Conley Mathews of Gore, OK, and Sister Debbie McClendon and Husband Rick of Marble City, OK. Cary proceeded in death by his Father, Donald Farrell Mathews. His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone he interacted and shared stories with.

A celebration of Cary’s life will be: 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 13, 2020, at the Chapel on the Creeks located in Rogers. Interment will follow at Pinnacle Memorial Gardens located in Rogers. Cremation Services for Cary Mathews are under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
