Cecil Chambers, age 83, of Muldrow, Oklahoma, passed away on February 8, 2025. He was born on October 23, 1941, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Pauline (Martin) Coughran and Arthur Chambers. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Cecil leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness.
Cecil married Karen Ella (Johnson) Chambers, and together they created a warm and loving home. He embraced fatherhood joyfully, raising four sons: David Chambers and Janet of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Dion Chambers and Shelia of Muldrow, Oklahoma, Randy Chambers of Montana, and Scott Chambers and Tricia of Muldrow, Oklahoma. His family continued to grow, and he took immense pride in being a grandfather to 11 grandchildren: David R. Chambers, Crystal Bercher, Amanda Turpin, Faith Bellisario, Michael Chambers, Brittney Doyle, Brialle Stewart, Jordan Self, Kyle Coatney, Logan Coatney, and Madison Chambers, as well as 17 great-grandchildren who brought him boundless joy.
Cecil worked as a factory supervisor, where he was known for his unwavering work ethic and commitment to excellence. His faith in the Baptist church provided him with guidance and strength throughout his life. Outside of work, Cecil had numerous passions; he enjoyed cars and motorcycles, cherished moments spent camping and gardening, and had a particular fondness for home-cooked meals, especially sweets. He loved gathering with family to play and sing music, sharing his passion for music with those around him.
In his later years, Cecil dedicated much of his time to caring for his mother. He spent several years working as a supervisor for Abilities Unlimited of Fort Smith and volunteered at Meals on Wheels, finding great satisfaction in helping others within his community. His warmth and generosity of spirit touched the lives of many.
Cecil is survived by his loving wife, Karen; his four sons and their families; two sisters, Reba Heathcock and Mary McLaughin, both of Muldrow, Oklahoma; and numerous relatives and friends who will dearly miss his kind heart and vibrant presence.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Jennifer James; one brother, Charles Chambers; and one sister, Dorothy Woody.
Services to honor Cecil’s life will be held at the Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow, Oklahoma. A viewing will take place from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, February 13, 2025, and Friday, February 14, 2025, with family greeting friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday. The funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 15, 2025, followed by burial at Memory Garden Cemetery in Muldrow.
Active pallbearers will include Darrin Bercher, Chris Turpin, Kyle Coatney, Logan Coatney, David R. Chambers, Mason James, Ian Bellisario, and Billy James.
