Funeral Service for Cherie Sue Poindexter, 72, of Fort Cobb, Oklahoma will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Marble City Cemetery in Marble City, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

She was born on November 19, 1951 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to Mary (Crawford) Johnson and Ben Watie Poindexter and passed away on February 29, 2024 in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma. She was a convenience store business owner and a Crow Roost volunteer fire fighter. She worked in accounting at Tinker Air Force Base and liked music, dancing, crocheting, gardening and reading her Bible.

Survivors are two daughters, Shelley Cantrell and Tony of Huntsville, AL and Melissa Phillips and Shawn of Warr Acres, OK; six grandchildren, Brooke Drittler and Sam, Devon Cose, Peyton Cose and Michelle, Kaitlyn Cantrell, Joshua Cantrell and Claire Cantrell; two great-grandchildren, Pajamay Castaneda and Pierce Cose; two sisters, Phyllis Hall of Shawnee, OK and Kara Trammell of Helena, OK; one brother, Ben Poindexter of Clinton, OK; and several other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jay Poindexter; and one sister, Vanda Fowler.

Pallbearers will be Devon Cose, Scot Trammell, Keneth Trammell, Remy Trammell, Bobby Ray Poindexter and Edward Poindexter.

Viewing will be 6 – 8 PM Monday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK where the family will greet 6 – 8 PM.
