Clema Jean Thompson, cherished sister and beloved friend, passed away on February 16, 2025, at the age of 74 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Born on September 6, 1950, in Muldrow, Oklahoma, Clema was the daughter of the late Hazel Thelma (Ford) Thompson and William M. Thompson.
Clema was a devoted homemaker and a long-time member the First Baptist Church, where she found joy in fellowship and community. Her passions included traveling and shopping, but above all, she treasured the moments spent with her family.
She is survived by her beloved sister, Willa M. Bell of Temple, TX, and her brother, N.L. Thompson, along with his wife Deborah and their daughter, Zora Thompson, all of Kansas City, MO. Additionally, Clema is remembered fondly by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other family members and friends who will miss her deeply.
Clema was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her sister, Cassie L. Thompson, and brothers Leon Thompson and Cornelius Thompson.
A Funeral Service to honor Clema's life will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Trinity Methodist Church in Muldrow, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery in Roland, Oklahoma, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the viewing on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow, where the family will greet guests from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Anthony Jones, Tommy Frost, Carlos Martin, Larry Harrison, Brandon Mosley, and Iman Harrison. Honorary pallbearers include Ronnie Youngblood, N.L. Thompson, Marvin Hamilton, Lewis Bland, and Perry Jackson. Flower Girls will be LaDonna Sampson Youngblood, Tamala Youngblood, Gwendolyn Benton, LaShawnta Ford, LaTisha Harrison and Capria Harrison.
Clema Jean Thompson’s spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her, and she will be missed for her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for her family.
