The Brock, Chambers and Phillips family are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved, Connie Lavelle Chambers, on Friday, April 21, 2023, after a strong, courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born to Cornelius and Gladys Jean Phillips. At an early age, she found Christ, being baptized and maintained her faith throughout her life. A deeply spiritual and private person, Connie raised 3 beautiful children who join scores of family, friends, and relatives who celebrate her life while mourning her passing. Her children and family were her life!

A resident of Roland, OK, Connie got her start at Fort Coffee, and attended Spiro High School. Her proudest moments, however, were her children, who will carry on her legacy, Jameerah Phillips, of Guthrie, OK, Tristan Le’Quon Deshava Chambers and wife, Brittany, of Fort Smith, AR and Trey Chambers of Fort Smith, AR, were her world. She shared 17 years with her partner, Randy Brock, of Roland, OK, where they traveled extensively and shared their love for each other throughout the years. Randy, Trey, and Terrie were by her side when she passed.

To know Connie was to see a light unto the world that rarely exists. Always a smile, a wave, she was radiant and a beautiful person inside and out. Fiercely loyal, she was protective of those she cared about, and demonstrated that by supporting her mother, Gladys Jean Phillips for a number of years. The bonds between mother and child will never be broken. Her bonds with her siblings, were some of the strongest connections she ever made. She loved us all dearly, and would do anything and everything to support us. Please pray for all of our strength during this extremely difficult time. She was our strength.

Psalms 91, a favorite verse, is here to comfort all who loved her and cherish her memories. She was preceded in death by her father, Cornelius Phillips, maternal and paternal grandparents, and brother-in-law, Gerald Hogue. She leaves behind those to watch over her children, her mother, Gladys Jean Phillips of Mansfield, TX, her brothers and sisters, Larry Eugene Phillips and his family of Roland, OK, Pastor Terish Vandell Phillips and his family of Spiro, OK, Steven Eugene Phillips and his family of Mansfield, TX, Shonta Phillips and her family of Bentonville, AR, D’Mar Phillips and his family of Austin, TX, and Keshia Hogue and her family of Fort Smith, AR. She has a host of loved ones, relatives, nieces and nephews, who she adored and loved, and her grandchildren, Delfino Stevens Jr., Daetrion Phillips, Zhyan Sandles, Aryss Chambers, Trislynn Nikol Chambers, Tristan Le’Quon DeShava Chambers, Jr., Braxton Canada, Yazmin Freeman, Taelynn Perry and Jeriyah Clayton.

The family wants to specifically recognize the daily support, care, and love that her son and future daughter in law, Terrie Canada, provided to her on a daily basis. Their love and support never wavered, and provided comfort to her prior to her passing. Connie was a strong woman. She never felt sorry for herself, or wanted others to feel despair. Her faith and trust in God is where she knew she would return to be reunited with those who went before her, and to see those who believe in God in the future upon their arrival. We are so thankful and grateful to all people who have reached out and sent messages of condolences and provided a testimony to her life!
