Connie Sue (Benge) Caughman

Funeral Service for Connie Sue (Benge) Caughman, 71, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 11, 2022 at Bethel Baptist Church in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Akins Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

She was born on August 25, 1950 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to Tommie Lucille (Barrett) Benge and Houston Goodlow Benge and passed away on July 6, 2022 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was married to Wayne Caughman on December 27, 1968 in Akins, Oklahoma. She was an educator and was employed with DHS for over 30 years, where she retired in 2016. She enjoyed traveling, friends and family, but especially her Grandson, Jack Kelly Caughman.

Survivors are:

husband, Wayne of the home;

son and daughter-in-law, Jerry Wayne Caughman and Lacey Ann Horn;

grandson, Jack Kelly Caughman;

brother, Jim Benge of Sallisaw, OK;

nephew, Kenny Benge of Indianola, IA;

nieces, Toni Gaither of Sallisaw, OK and Tammy Benge of Gans, OK;

numerous beloved brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins;

several other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Lucille Benge of Akins, OK; two sisters, Christeen Oliver and Ida Maye Gregory; one brother, Kenneth Benge; two nephews, Dewayne Gregory and Eddie Benge; and one sister-in-law, Sandy Benge.

Active Pallbearers will be her nephews.

Viewing will be 10 AM – 6 PM Saturday and 2 – 8 PM Sunday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK where the family will greet 4 – 6 Sunday.
