Funeral Service for Curtis Dale Stephens, 87 of Vian, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Sallisaw City Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
He was born on November 9, 1936 in Drake Prairie, Sequoyah County, Sallisaw, Oklahoma to Madie Alice (Timmerman) Stephens and Ted Isaac Stephens and passed away on August 19, 2024 in Vian, Oklahoma. He was married to Sylvia Lou (Ford) Stephens on June 16, 1962 in Stilwell, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on October 9, 2020. Mr. Stephens was a Retired Master Sergeant with Arkansas Air National Guard 188th Fighter Wing. He also worked as a disc jockey. He started the Sallisaw Youth League wrestling and football programs and was an umpire and coach in every sport his children were involved.
Survivors are two daughters, Lee Ann Parks and Tim of Vian, OK and Kimberly Spears and Larry of Vian, OK; one son, Kurt Wade Stephens and Julia of Broken Arrow, OK; 10 grandchildren, Jonathan Parks and Allison Sandlin, Mattie Thompson and Colton, Ashton Darcy and Keith, Shane Spears, Joslynn Lawler, Chaselynn Johnson and Joey, McKaylynn Stephens, Chad Oxley, Kyler Oxley and Noah Oxley; six great-grandchildren, Kloe Darcy, Halle Darcy, Rosie Darcy, Syla Johnson, Pascal Stunkard and Finnley Parks; one brother, Steve Stephens and Joan of Cabot, AR; two sisters, Joyce Stephens of Claremore, OK and Connie Hawkins and Steve of Columbus, GA; and several other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and one sister, Pat Lee.
Active Pallbearers will be James Branham, Odell Branham, Colton Thompson, Keith Darcy, Joey Johnson and Jon Parks.
Viewing will be 10 am - 8 pm Wednesday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw where the family will greet 6 - 8 pm.
