Cremation Service for Dale Sneed, 75, of Vian, Oklahoma is under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Dale Sneed, 75, of Vian, Oklahoma walked into the arms of Jesus peacefully in his sleep at home on January 16, 2022. He was born September 9, 1946 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Ottamae Harris Sneed and Dale Sneed, Jr.

Dale attended Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma for two and a half years. He then worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. He was a police officer for 35 years, 15 years in Warr Acres (OKC) and 20 years in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. While serving as an officer in Sallisaw, he was a School Resource Officer and taught the DARE Program in the schools. He later wrote his own program, SHIELD (Student Heroes In Everyday Living Decisions) which was then taught instead of the DARE. Dale also taught several Reserve Classes and was a great encouragement and influence to many. He didn’t realize how much he impacted so many people and how well he was liked.

Dale loved being with family and especially his grandchildren.

Survivors are:

wife of 37 years, Bobbie, of the home;

1 daughter, Kristle Walden and Joe Roberts of Vian, OK;

2 sons, Kenny Barnett and Laurel of Tulsa, OK and Scott Barnett of Sallisaw, OK;

5 grandchildren, Jason Barnett and Gabrielle of Glenpool, OK, Amber Casas and Sirr of Tulsa, OK, Bailey Walden of Vian, OK, Chase Walden of Vian, OK and Jessi Barnett of Sallisaw, OK;

3 great-grandchildren;

3 estranged daughters;

1 sister, Jane Ann Whisenant and Bill of Lawton, OK;

1 niece, Lisa Hanes of Lawton, OK and 1 great nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents and step-dad.

Per Dale’s request, no service is planned.
