Graveside service for Daniel “Boone” Locust, 66 of Vian, Oklahoma will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 19, 2021 at Redbird Smith Cemetery in Vian, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on November 18, 1954 in Vian, Oklahoma to Carrie (Dirtseller) Locust and Joe Locust and passed away on July 14, 2021 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was married to Ramona Hardbarger for 6 years and Connie Waters for 29 years. Mr. Locust was a construction worker and a member of Redbird Smith Ceremonial Grounds.

Survivors are:

8 daughters: Angela Locust of Marble City, OK, Tonya Locust of Vian, OK, Monica Locust of Gans, OK, Mary Locust of Vian, OK, NaTasha Leonardo of Vian, OK, Angel Locust of Vian, OK, Mona Cotner of Fort Worth, TX, Joselynn Bonilla of Vian, OK and Danielle Locust of Jonesboro, AR;

26 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren;

2 sisters: Sarah Kirkland of Tulsa, OK and Marie Taulbee of Tulsa, OK;

2 brothers: Rider Dirtseller of Sisseton, SD and John Dirtseller of Tulsa, OK;

numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara Pettit and brother, Richard Dirtseller.

Active Pallbearers will be Ethan Gillis, Rafa Diaz, Mason Patterson, Gelion Ramos, Ronaldo Ramos, Leland Locust, Michael Young and Ramiro Herrera.

Viewing will be Friday 1 – 8 pm, Saturday 10 am – 6 pm and Sunday 2 – 8 pm at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK where the family will greet4 – 6 pm Sunday.
