Danny Ray Martin

Danny Ray Martin, 69, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, passed away on January 27, 2025. He was born on May 27, 1955, in Sallisaw to Beatrice Lenore (Risenhoover) Martin and Tommy James Martin. Danny married Joy (Burcham) Martin on June 18, 1976, in Sallisaw. He lived his life as a truck driver and cattle hauler and was part of the Pentecostal community. 

He is survived by his wife, Joy of the home; two sons, Chris Martin of Sallisaw, and Scooter Martin and Tiffany also of Sallisaw; one daughter, Amy Parkhurst of Portland, Oregon; nine grandchildren: Justin, Colby, Kaylee, Kaitlyn, Caleb, Jaden, Hunter, Lawson, and Hampton; and three great-grandchildren with two on the way; one brother, Ronnie Martin of Sallisaw; one sister, Peggy Martin of Sallisaw; and several other relatives and friends.

Danny was preceded in death by one son, Michael Martin; his parents; one brother, Jamie Martin; and one sister, Carolyn Massa.

Viewing will be Noon - 8 PM Friday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK where the family will greet 6 - 8 PM. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Akins Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Active pallbearers will include Brian Strickland, Willie Strickland, Justin Martin, Caleb Martin, Kevin Edwards, and Hazer Pruitt. Honorary pallbearers are Archie Risenhoover, Robert Strickland, B.J. Bennett, and Kenneth Sinyard.

Danny Ray Martin will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
