Funeral service for Darlene Blount Harris, 88, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 27, 2019 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Sallisaw City Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

She was born on October 20, 1930 in Sadie Community, Oklahoma to Rebecca Jane (Powell) Davis and Charlie Robert Davis and passed away on September 21, 2019 in Plano, Texas. She married Carl Fay Blount on March 12, 1947 in Van Buren, Arkansas and he preceded her in death on August 20, 1975. She was then married to Benjamin Frank Harris on December 7, 1985 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on March 20, 1989. She was a rancher and a member of the First Baptist Church in Sallisaw, Oklahoma.

children: Vickie Jones, wife of Sam P. Jones III of Clinton, AR, Larry Blount, husband of Chris Blount of Sallisaw, OK, Timothy Blount, husband of Micki Blount of Sallisaw, OK and Kimberly Allen, wife of Mike Hunn of Carrollton, TX;

grandchildren: Sam P. Jones IV, husband of Zeneida of Edmond, OK, Mindi Moore, wife of Danny Moore of Little Rock, AR, Julie Moorman, wife of Jason Moorman of Summers, AR, Chaz Jones, husband of Heather Jones of Memphis, TN, James Blount, husband of Kimberly Blount of Sallisaw, OK, Tayler Melton, wife of Brandon Melton of Durham, NC, Chance Blount of Oklahoma City, OK and Craig Kelley, husband of Paula Kelley of Acworth, GA;

great grandchildren: Maeson Moore, Sydney Moorman, Harrison Jones, Quinn Moore, Leah Blount, Dylan Jones, Jacob Moorman, Isabella Blount, Olivia Blount, Chaz Jones II, Sarah Blount, Adaline Melton and Auston Kelley;

1 sister: Shirley Wynn of Garland, TX;

numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her 1st husband: Carl Fay Blount, 2nd husband: Frank Harris, parents, 5 sisters: Oleta Sanders, Lillie Pinson, Velma Randolph, Doris Walker and Cherry Carr and 2 brothers: Charlie Leland Davis and Lawrence Davis.

Active Pallbearers will be Chance Blount, Sam Jones IV, Chaz Jones, James Blount, Brandon Melton, Jason Moorman and Danny Moore.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Hunn and Sam Jones III.

Viewing will be 10 AM – 8 PM Thursday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, Oklahoma where the family will greet 6 – 8 PM.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Children’s Ministry at First Baptist Church in Sallisaw, Oklahoma.
