David Bun Taylor

Funeral Service for David “Bun” Taylor, 83, of Marble City, Oklahoma will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Blunt Baptist Church in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Dwight Mission Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on March 4, 1938 in Marble City, Oklahoma to Mary Ann (McInerney) and David Levi Taylor and passed away on October 22, 2021 in Marble City, Oklahoma. Bun was a very gentle, kind, loving and forgiving man. He loved his children and grandchildren most of all and he loved people. He never met a stranger. Through the years he opened his home up and fed and gave people a place to live, it didn’t matter if he knew them or just met them. He made sure they were not hungry and had a place to sleep. He was the kind of man that would take the shirt off of his back and give it to you, so you would be clothed or give his last dollar or food to you so you wouldn’t be hungry or without a dollar. He was what we look for love to be. Through his life he worked at many different jobs, most of all truck driving. One of his most favorite things to do was to make a garden every spring and fall and out of it he fed his family and many people. He also loved fishing and cutting wood for the wood stove. There’s a lot more things we could say about who Bun was but it would take a lot more paper. He truly was a one-of-a-kind man. Bun was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors are:

1 daughter: Missy Flute and John of Marble City, OK;

2 sons: Bobby Taylor and David Jan Taylor, both of Marble City, OK;

companion: Doris McDaniel of Muldrow, OK and her children: Tammy Morris and Ricky Morris, both of Muldrow, OK;

25 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren;

5 sisters: Wanda Carlson of Wichita, KS, Phyllis Stephens of Marble City, OK, Verla Pounds of Sallisaw, OK, Lillian Stone of Canton, TX and Kathleen Newman of Rocky Mountain, OK;

1 brother: Charles Taylor of Sallisaw, OK;

and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 son: Joseph Taylor; 1 step-son: Larry Morris; 2 brothers: Rex Levi Taylor and Johnny Lee Taylor; and 1 sister: Avis Taylor.

Active Pallbearers will be Bobby Taylor, Brandon Taylor, Jimmy Taylor, Frankie Noel, Leslie Choate and Gary Christie.

Honorary Pallbearers will be John Flute, Calvin McCoy, Rick Rogers and Leroy Morris.

Viewing will be Noon – 8 PM Monday and 8 AM to 8 PM on Tuesday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK.
