He was born on January 19, 1947 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Glessie Mae (Chance) Thornburg and Charles Thornburg, Sr. and passed away on October 13, 2022 in Roland, Oklahoma. Mr. Thornburg was a cabinet maker.

Survivors are wife, Beverly Colston of the home; one daughter, Sherry Zolliecoffer and Bobby of Arkoma, OK; one son, David Thornburg of Chattanooga, TN; six grandchildren, Tabitha Stewart of Booneville, AR, Micheal Thornburg and Shannon of Booneville, AR, DeWight Thornburg of Booneville, AR, Terrance Thornburg of Ozark, MO, Amanda Hartgraves and Allen of Fort Smith, AR, Aaron Zolliecoffer and Cassandra of Muldrow, OK; 14 great-grandchildren, Evan, Emily, Erin, Ella, Da’Leah, Gavin, Tanya, Chasidy, Logan, Levi, Addileigh, Tenleigh, Allie and Blakely; three sisters, Alene Walther of Muldrow, OK, Jimmie Medlock and Fred of Roland, OK and Carolyn Rawlings of Arkoma, OK; two brothers, Ronnie Thornburg of Muldrow, OK and Stanley Thornburg and Charlotte of Muldrow, OK; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Bertha Sexton, Betty Caughran, Doris Wood and Florence Cook and two brothers, Charles and Jerry Thornburg.
