Dennis McClure

Funeral Service for Dennis McClure, 79, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 26, 2024 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Sallisaw City Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on July 10, 1945 in Van Buren, Arkansas to Maxine (Sullivan) McClure and Clarence McClure and passed away on August 22, 2024 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He was married to Shelba Paulette (Rogers) McClure on December 16, 1972 in Marble City, Oklahoma. Dennis was an independent route salesman for Guys Potato Chips and enjoyed Nascar, but God was his #1 and Shelba was his everything. He was a member of Victory Temple Holiness Church, where he taught Sunday School for 37 years and was a fill-in pastor for five years. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his sweetheart of 51 years, Shelba McClure; two daughters, Theresa Lynn Rogers and husband, Jay, and Sheryl Denise Dawson; one son, Linvel Paul Merrill, Jr. and wife, Rhonda; one son-in-law, Daryl Goodwin; grandchildren, Jacob Goodwin, Maegan Miller, Jace Goodwin, Leslie Grass, Lindsey Branham, Lindsay Dawson-Barton, Joshua Dawson and Christian Dawson; 16 great-grandchildren; one brother, Darrell Jan McClure and wife, Margaret; one sister-in-law, Judy McClure-Lincks and husband, Fred; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Paula Goodwin; and two brothers, David John McClure and Rick McClure.

Active Pallbearers will be Tom Rogers, Jimmy Dale Rogers, Steve McClure, Bill McClure, Jacob Goodwin, Jace Goodwin, Jay Rogers and Uriah Grass.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Carol Satterfield, Don Robertson, Heath Branham, Jeron Miller and Daryl Goodwin. 

Viewing will be 2 - 8 Sunday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK where the family will greet 3 - 5 PM.
