Derrel Eugene ('Gene') Walters

Graveside service for Derrel Eugene “Gene” Walters, 73 of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on May 14, 1949 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to Lulamae (Young) Walters and Jesse “Rowdy” Walters and passed away on June 22, 2022 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Mr. Walters was a construction worker and a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran.

Survivors are:

Daughter, Crystal Frank and Jason of Sallisaw, OK;

Sons, Derrel Eugene Walters, Jr. of Texas and Kash Walters of McAlester, OK;

Special nephew whom he considered a son, Johnathan Lee Walters of Sallisaw, OK;

Grandchildren, Haleigh Frank, Avyn Frank, Victoria Frank, Selena Frank, Derek Frank, Dawson Walters and Riley Walters;

Sisters, Janice Pegg of Sallisaw, OK and Carol Cole of Sallisaw, OK;

Brothers, Dennis Walters of Texas and Doug Walters of Sallisaw, OK;

Four legged companion, Baby Doll;

Several other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Barbara Gail Walters and Wanda Walters; brothers, Dean Walters and Larry Walters and four legged companion, Bitsy.

Viewing will be 10 am – 8 pm Monday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw.
