Dewey Monroe "Bo" Spyres

Dewey Monroe “Bo” Spyres, 80 of Marble City, Oklahoma passed this life on November 23, 2018. He was born on September 5, 1938 in Marble City, Oklahoma to James Dewey and Bonnie May (Sumpter) Spyres.
Bo graduated from Sallisaw High School in 1956. He graduated from Connors State College and Northeastern State University where he played baseball. He was a member of the United States Air Force Reserves and he worked at the Department of Human Services in Sallisaw for 35 years.
He married Donna Jean Ray on November 22, 1963. Together they raised their three children in a loving Christian home, and served the Lord in Vian Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. He was a beloved husband, father, and Papa Dewey. He is remembered by his friends and family as an upstanding Christian and a faithful friend.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Spyres of the home; his children, Rusti Tomlin of Sallisaw, OK, Barry and Carolyn Spyres of Marble City, OK and Steve and Amber Spyres of Vian, Ok; his grandchildren, Raegan Hensley, Taylor and Nathan Chadwell, Hannah and Sheldon Caughman, Jacob Spyres, Benjamin Spyres, Madison Spyres and Gideon Spyres; his great-grandchildren, Addilyn, Hadlee, Knox and Maddox and his siblings, June Adams and husband Rick of Fort Smith, AR and Shirley Trusty of Subiaco, AR.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Bonnie Spyres; his sisters, Maxine Hixon and Peggy “Hoot” Crawford; his granddaughter, Megan Hensley and his nephew Chris Crawford.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Vian, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Marble City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Active Pallbearers will be Jacob Spyres, Ben Spyres, Nathan Chadwell, Sheldon Caughman, Mike Fullbright and Gary Fullbright.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Men of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church .
Viewing will be 10 am – 8 pm Saturday and 2 – 8 pm Sunday and 10 am – 8 pm Monday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK where the family will greet 6 – 8 pm Monday.
