Don Davis, formerly of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, passed away on February 14, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas, at the age of 70. Born on March 8, 1954, in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, Don was the son of Flora Marie (Allen) Davis and Ernest Davis.
A dedicated respiratory therapist and a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Don exemplified commitment and service both professionally and personally. He was known for his adventurous spirit, delighting in activities such as golfing and floating down rivers, and he cherished the joyous gatherings with family and friends, particularly during pool parties and at Mardi Gras celebrations. An enthusiastic supporter of the New Orleans Saints, Don's love for the game reflected his vibrant personality and ability to connect with those around him.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Davis, and her boyfriend, Jason Bledsoe, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; three sons, Michael Davis and Vanessa of Arkansas, Derrick Davis of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, and Zachary Davis of Nacogdoches, Texas; seven grandchildren: Lakin Davis, Blake Donaldson, John Davis, Leana Davis, Jadyn Sharp, Ryker Bledsoe, and Jax Bledsoe; as well as one great-grandchild; two sisters, Carol Ulmer of Fort Worth, Texas and Alta Mae Harp of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; and his brother, Bobby Davis of Fort Worth, Texas. He remained close with Deanie Davis. He also had numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who had the privilege of knowing him.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; a niece, Michelle Johnson; a nephew, Jeffrey McGee; brother-in-law, Jerry Ulmer; and his sister-in-law, Pam Davis. His memory will be honored by all who had the pleasure of sharing their lives with him.
A funeral service for Don Davis is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Sallisaw City Cemetery, with arrangements directed by Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc. The family will receive friends during a viewing from noon to 8 PM on Thursday, February 20, 2025, with a visitation from 6 PM to 8 PM that same evening, at the funeral home.
