Donald Rufus Covington

Funeral Service for Donald Rufus Covington, 91 of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 31, 2025 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Sallisaw City Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on March 9, 1934 in Price's Chapel community, Oklahoma to Myrtle (Diffee) Covington and Rufus Covington and passed away on March 27, 2025 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was married to Loretta "Retta" (Nelson) Covington on March 23, 1953 in Van Buren, Arkansas. She preceded him in death on December 28, 2018. Mr. Covington was retired from Arkansas Oklahoma Gas and a member of Sallisaw Church of Christ.

Survivors are two daughters, Donna Phillips and Dave of Bella Vista, Arkansas and Toni Ruark of Sallisaw, OK; three granddaughters, Dana Martin and Hamp of Bella Vista, AR, Dara Baldridge and Greg of Leawood, KS and Keli Sharp of Sallisaw, OK; six great-grandsons, Donavon Baldridge and Erin, Andrew Martin, Seth Baldridge, Blake Martin, and Ethan Isbell; one great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Isbell; one great-great-granddaughter, Keira Baldridge; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

The family will greet friends at 1 PM Monday before the service at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel.
