Graveside service for Donald G. “Don” Long, 70 of Marble City, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Buffington Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on April 21, 1950 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to Jimmie Leona (Walker) Long and Roy Long and passed away on April 7, 2021 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He was married to Joan (Conley) Long on April 15, 1977 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Mr. Long was a machinist and a proud member of the United States Marine Corp where he honorably served his country during the Vietnam War and was also a member and Deacon of Price’s Chapel Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, family and friends and also enjoyed attending church, bible study, fishing, hunting and tending to his chickens.

Survivors are:

wife: Joan of the home;

1 daughter: Lisa Gooch of Arkoma, OK;

2 sons: Rick Long and Terri of Marble City, OK and Wayne Gooch and Lisa of Danville, AR;

8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren;

2 sisters: Mildred Crum and Billie Harris;

1 brother: Steve Long;

numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Jimmie and Roy Long, 5 sisters: Pam Day, Jane Scarbrow, Deloris Stille, Margie Newport and Velma Medley and 7 brothers: Raymond Long, Carl Long, Kenneth Long, Jack Long, Jimmy Long, Levi Long and Eli Long.

Active Pallbearers will be Darrell Gooch, Jeremy Gooch, Charlie Long, Billy Long, Shawn Long and Jarred McGarrah.

Honorary Pallbearers will be nephews and grandsons: Randell Conley, Jack Conley, Allen Truong, Anthony Truong, Stevie Long, Gabriel Long, Nathen Long, Rusty Waters, Derek Sanders, Don Sanders, Daren Sanders, Bill McGarrah and James Davis.

Viewing will be 10 am – 8 pm Friday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK where the family will greet 6 – 8 pm.
