Funeral Service for Doretha N. Taylor, 81 of Vian, Oklahoma will be at Noon on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Vian, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Vian, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

She was born on April 25, 1940 in Wybark, Oklahoma to Sheary (Cowans) Drew and Jeff Cowans and passed away on September 26, 2021 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Mrs. Taylor was a cook at Vian Public Schools and member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Vian, Oklahoma.

Survivors are:

3 daughters: Deborah S. Barnett and Brient of Oklahoma City, OK, Donna R. Taylor of Sallisaw, OK and Francine M. Lunsford and Gabe of Houston, TX;

5 sons: J.C. Taylor and Donna of Vian, OK, Londell Taylor, SR and Annette of Sallisaw, OK, Lyndon B. Taylor of Sallisaw, OK, James F. Taylor, JR and Tonya of Kansas City, KS and Kevin M. Taylor of Vian, OK;

5 step-children: Kathy Dockery of Kansas City, MO, Adrian Dockery of Vian, OK, Sharon Dockery of Oklahoma City, OK, Kimberly Dockery of Oklahoma City, OK and Andy Dockery of Kansas City, MO;

18 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren;

5 sisters: Mildred A. Phelps of Fresno, CA, Gertha L. Cubit of Vian, OK, Gloria M. Thornton of San Fransisco, CA, Sirretta M. Davis and Lawrence of Marion, AR and Linda Drew-Willis and James of Warr Acres, OK;

2 brothers: Rev. Thomas D. Drew and Rose of Vian, OK and Emmanuel Drew of Vian, OK;

numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Jeff Cowans and Sheary Cowans Drew, husband: James F. Taylor, SR, step-father: Thomas H. Drew, daughter: Gayle M. Taylor, grandson: Terrill A. Francis, sister: Geraldine Cowans and brothers: A.C. Cowans, Charles E. Cowans and Leon Cowans.

Viewing will be 3:30 – 8 pm Thursday and 8 am – 8 pm Friday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw where the family will greet 6 – 8 pm Friday.
