Services for Dorothy Bernice Looper, 95 of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at First Assembly of God Church in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Sallisaw City Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
She was born on November 16, 1923 in Ellenwood, Kansas to Maggie (Littlejohn) Phillips and Buford Phillips and passed away on February 15, 2019 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. She was married to Vernon “Buddy” Looper on October 11, 1941 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Mrs. Looper was a loving wife and homemaker who worked alongside her husband on the farm. She was a devoted grandmother and loved to support her grandkids at all their events. She attended church faithfully throughout her life and loved to read her Bible and sing praises to her Lord and Savior. Her faith in Jesus Christ was always at the center of her life and even in her last days it was a source of comfort to herself and those around her.

Daughter and son-in-law: Verna and Wendell Norrid of Sallisaw, OK;

Son and daughter-in-law: Richard and June Looper of Sallisaw, OK;

Grandchildren: Tammy Springwater and husband Gary of Rogers, AR, Tonya Storie and husband Ben of Ft. Smith, AR, Shane Norrid and wife Krista of Tulsa, OK, Kyle Looper and wife Elke of Sallisaw, OK, Jonathan Kody Looper of Malibu, CA and Vadim Bulatov of Malibu, CA;

Great grandchildren: Kelsey Gilley and husband Nick of Rogers, AR, Isaac Springwater of Rogers, AR, Maggie and Eva Storie of Ft. Smith, AR, Kynlee and Karston Norrid of Tulsa, OK, Harmony Gantt, Katelyn Looper and one on the way: Jedediah Looper of Sallisaw, OK;

Great great grandchildren: Asher Gilley and one on the way: Ephraim Gilley of Rogers, AR;

sister: Mildred (Phillips) Waldron of Bakersfield, CA;

sister-in-law: Lamona Phillips of Bakersfield, CA

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 2 sisters: Emma Jean Waters and Bessie O’Laughlin and 2 brothers: Godfrey and Bob Phillips

Active pallbearers will be Shane Norrid, Kyle Looper, Jonathan Looper, Isaac Springwater, Gary Springwater and Nick Gilley.

Viewing will be 2 – 8 pm Sunday and 10 am – 8 pm Monday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK where the family will greet 5 – 7 pm Monday.
