Graveside Service for Dorothy Hellen Matthews, 84, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Sallisaw City Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

She was born on July 11, 1935 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to Clacie Richardson Cole and Cluvy Cole and passed away on September 22, 2019 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She was married to Melvin Matthews on August 5, 1955 in Stilwell, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death. She was a waitress, a CNA at Sequoyah Memorial Hospital and member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

Survivors are:

2 children: Brenda Mattingly and husband, James, and Paula Matthews;

grandchildren: Stephen Matthews, David Young, Brandon Young, Angela Phillips, David Allen Matthews and Caleb Mattingly;

great grandchildren: Brily Matthews, Lanie Matthews, Wyatt Matthews, Cord Matthews, Matt Peters, Austin Peters, Maleigh Young, Samara Young, Tommie Renea Phillips, Chori Lane, Terrance Young, Maddox Matthews and Kinsly Matthews;

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 56 years, son: Loy Eugene Matthews, granddaughter: Jessica Ann Matthews and her sister: Pauline Hurst.

Pallbearers will be David Young, Brandon Young, Matt Peters, Austin Peters, Billy Langdell, David Matthews and Wyatt Matthews.

Viewing will be noon – 8 PM Tuesday, 10 AM – 8 PM Wednesday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, Oklahoma where the family will greet 6 – 8 PM Wednesday.
