He was born on September 25, 1938 in Lavaca, Arkansas to Bessie (Johnson) Brooks and Elmer Edward “Shorty” Brooks and passed away on January 29, 2021 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was married to Sandra June (Butcher) Brooks on September 10, 1965 in Muldrow, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on August 27, 2020. Mr. Brooks was an owner and operator of Convenience Stores and a U.S. Navy Veteran.

Survivors are:

1 daughter: Christy Clark and Ken of Muldrow, OK;

1 son: Rodney Brooks and Jennifer of Greenbrier, AR;

grandchildren: Seth Clark and Katrin of Tahlequah, OK, Kensey Richards and Daniel of Roland, OK and Audrey Brooks of Greenbrier, AR;

numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and brother: Rodney Brooks

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eastside Freewill Baptist Church building fund in Muldrow, OK.
