Funeral Service for Emogene “Jean” (Matlock) McConnell, 94, of Muldrow, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Memory Garden Cemetery in Muldrow, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Jean was born on April 21, 1928 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Golda (Henry) Matlock and Edward Matlock and passed away on November 17, 2022 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She was married to Charles Everett McConnell on June 14, 1946 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on June 2, 2003. Jean was a master upholsterer, a fashion store owner and a Merle Norman Sales Representative for over 40 years. Jean was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 50 years. She loved to travel and had been to many countries. She worked as a tour guide throughout the United States and Canada. She loved baking, cooking, entertaining and was good at crafting. Jean was a member of First Baptist Church of Muldrow, Oklahoma. She will be greatly missed by all.
Survivors are two grandchildren, Danna Condict of Edmond, OK and Christopher McConnell of Tulsa, OK; four great-grandchildren, Chloe and Krue Kenny of Edmond, OK and Elliot and Morgan McConnell of Tulsa, OK; two nieces, Connie and Mary of California; several other family members and friends; and best friend, Chris Loudon of Sallisaw, OK.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Eddie Joe McConnell and Danny McConnell, and her husband of 56 years, Charles McConnell.
