Essie Rhae (Turner) Hixson

Essie Rhae (Turner) Hixson, age 81, of Muldrow, Oklahoma, passed away on December 28,2024. Born on November 27, 1943, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Hallie Louise (Gammill) Turner and Elbert Charles Turner.

Essie was married to Jerry Dale Hixson, and together they built a loving home. She retired from Rheem Manufacturing and was of the Christian faith. 

Her legacy is carried on by her husband, Jerry Hixson, of the home; and her two sons, Jerry Dale Hixson, Jr. of Muldrow, OK, and Michael Hixson with his wife, Becca, of Yukon, OK. Essie's loving family also includes ten grandchildren: Clinton Hixson and his wife, Angela, Christina Hixson, Wyatt Hixson, David Hixson, Tabatha Adcock and her husband, Naaman, Patrick Cahill, Jordan Davis, Sam Davis, Charlene Davis, and Charlessa Davis; as well as numerous great-grandchildren who enriched her life.

Essie was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Jessie Fay Turner, Mary Ward, and Betty Horn; and one brother, E.C. Turner. 

A Funeral Service to honor Essie will take place at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the Muldrow Church of the Nazarene located at 1100 S Main Street, Muldrow, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Memory Garden Cemetery in Muldrow, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the viewing from Noon to 8 PM on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, also at the Muldrow Church of the Nazarene, with the family greeting from 6 PM to 8 PM. 

Active pallbearers will be Michael Hixson, Wyatt Hixson, David Hixson, Kenny Hixson, Josh McCleod and Jackson Faulkner.

Essie Rhae Hixson will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
