Burial will follow at Cottonwood Cemetery in Muldrow, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
She was born on November 1, 1956 and went home to be with her Lord on March 23, 2022.
She was preceded in death by her husband of her 39 years, Bill Coleman, her parents Charles and Naomi Ogdon. She is survived by her two children, Chad Coleman and Danielle Grimes, her sister Linda Dillon, her grandchildren, Gavin Coleman, Aaron Grimes, Caden Coleman, Easton Coleman, and Austin Grimes, as well as beloved in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
Eva lived an exciting childhood, traveling the world singing the Good News of Jesus. After she graduated high school Eva married Billy Jo Coleman and moved to Searcy, Arkansas, where they served as youth pastors. Following, they moved to Waxahachie, Texas, to Southwestern Assembly of God University to further their formal education. Education was a big deal to Eva. She valued its purpose and believed God could transform minds through learning. She was an education major. While at SAGU, Bill and Eva welcomed their son, Chad Coleman, to the world.
After, Bill and Eva pastored in Wainwright followed by Morton, Texas. While in Texas they saw the miracle of their daughter, Billie Danielle Grimes. In 1986, Bill and Eva moved to Glenpool where they planted a church. The majority of their ministry was spent serving the people of Glenpool. In Glenpool one of Eva’s greatest contributions was founding and opening a Christian school, educating kids from pre-school through high school.
After resigning New Hope Assembly in Glenpool, Bill and Eva began their ministry at First Assembly in Roland, Oklahoma. After teaching in Tulsa Public Schools while living in Glenpool, Eva continued her teaching career at Liberty Elementary. Eva taught for several years before retiring and being a stay at home grandma.
In recent years Eva enjoyed playing the piano in church, leading Bible studies in her home, and being in the presence of God. She always had a laugh and a song cued up, and now she is rejoicing in the best worship service imaginable.
Active Pallbearers will be Jody Rhoads, John Spradling, Tony Stout, Gavin Coleman, Caden Coleman and Easton Coleman.
Viewing will be noon – 8 pm Monday and 10 am – 8 pm Tuesday at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow where the family will greet 6 – 8 pm Tuesday.
