Fay (Hallum) Prescott, age 94, of Muldrow, Oklahoma, departed this life on December 20, 2024, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Fay was born on September 19, 1930, in Muldrow, Oklahoma, to Maud (Lee) Hallum and G.O. Hallum.
Fay celebrated her marriage to Jimmie Prescott on August 8, 1959, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, a union that was cherished until his passing on April 7, 2013. Throughout her life, Fay dedicated herself to caring for her family and was an active member of Lee's Chapel Assembly of God Church, where she found joy in her faith and community involvement.
Fay served as a cafeteria stocker at Whirlpool for 15 years. She was a connoisseur of hosting and food preparation and was known for her exceptional cooking and hospitality, particularly during family gatherings.
Fay is survived by her loving family, including three nieces: Joan Taylor of Muldrow, OK; Brenda Johnson of Muldrow, OK; and Donna Shipley of Fort Smith, AR. She is also survived by seven nephews: Randy Hallum and Liz of Muldrow, OK; Mark Hallum and Jennifer of Muldrow, OK; Eddie Huggins and LaRuth of Muldrow, OK; Richard Huggins and Patricia of Muldrow, OK; Kevin Furr of Fort Worth, TX; David Furr of Smith, AR; and Ian Prescott of Fort Smith, AR, along with several great nieces and great nephews, as well as other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three sisters, Sybil Hallum, Eula Dean Huggins and Joyce Hallum; two brothers, Ray and Orban Hallum; three nieces, Deborah Hallum, Nadine Earp and Sally Kay Shamblin and three nephews, Dwight Hallum, Johnny Taylor and Jerry Johnson.
A funeral service to honor her life will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 23, 2024, at Lee’s Chapel Assembly of God Church in Muldrow, Oklahoma, with burial following at Lee's Chapel Cemetery. Viewing will be from 2 PM to 6 PM on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at the church, where the family will greet guests from 4 PM to 6 PM.
Pallbearers will include Eddie Huggins, Richard Huggins, Randy Hallum, Dennis Huggins, Darin Huggins, Jarrod Taylor, and Jeremy Hallum, with honorary pallbearers being her nephews.
Fay Prescott will be remembered for her warmth, love for family, and the joy she brought into the lives of those around her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by her family and friends.
