Funeral Service for Floyd “Podgey” Spears, Jr., 56, of Bauxite, Arkansas will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 19, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Gore, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at White Cemetery in Gore, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
He was born on July 29, 1966 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Dorothy Mae (Teague) Dixon and Floyd Calvin Spears and passed away on August 12, 2022 in Benton, Arkansas. Mr. Spears was retired from the U.S. Army, a truck driver, mowed lawns and was the owner/operator of Spears Farm and Tractor. He loved playing Santa Claus and spoiling his nieces, nephews and grandkids. He loved animals, riding motorcycles and horses. He was very honored to serve 23 years in the U.S. Army and was a proud veteran that loved hanging out with other combat veterans. He enjoyed playing jokes and making people laugh. He was a mentor, friend, favorite uncle, chief running buffalo and patriarch to the family. He was a father to all.
Survivors are:
1 daughter: Gracie Spears of Conway, AR;
1 son: Matt Spears of Capel Coral, FL;
4 grandchildren: Owen Spears, Mia Spears, Mila Spears and Lillian Spears;
1 sister: Kimberly Miller and Justin of Van Buren, AR;
1 brother: Eric Spears and Sabrina of Gore, OK;
other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters: Amanda Batson and Susan Spears.
Active Pallbearers will be Beach Bum, Bullet, Chill, Genaux, Chopper and Fix.
Visitation will be 10 am – 8 pm Thursday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw.
