Funeral Service for Frances Cordelia (Sunagoowie) Spurgeon, 82 of Sallisaw, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 7, 2022 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Vian, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

She was born on December 20, 1939 in Gore, Oklahoma to Ella (Cumsey) Sunagoowie and Jack Sunagoowie and passed away on February 2, 2022 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was married to Mark Spurgeon on March 22, 1996 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on December 22, 2006. Mrs. Spurgeon was a retired nursing home caregiver.

Survivors are:

1 Daughter: Nola Cheryl Toon of Sallisaw, OK;

1 Son: Jimmy Leaf, Jr. of Sallisaw, OK;

6 Grandchildren: Ryan, Sandi, Raven, Donnie, Hannah and Amelia;

4 Great-grandchildren: Cannon, Cory, Lillian and Maverick;

2 Sisters: Irene Stockard of Notchietown, OK and Esther Pearman of Hutchinson, KS;

1 Brother: Rev. Jack Sunagoowie, Jr. of Broken Arrow, OK;

Numerous other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; 2 daughters: Sandra Mason and Elaine Leaf; 1 son: Nelson Leaf; 2 sisters: Betty Leaf and Geneva Sovo and 2 brothers: Tex and Johnnie Ray Sunagoowie.

Active Pallbearers will be Jimmy Leaf, Jr., Nathan Leaf, Donnie Leaf, Ryan Toon, Michael Leaf and Lance Leaf.

Viewing will be 10 am – 6 pm Saturday and 2 – 8 pm Sunday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw.
