Frances Louise (Callicoat) Daffin

March 12, 1936 — January 29, 2021

Daffin, Frances Louise Callicoat

Louise Daffin passed away on January 29, 2021 in Vian, OK. Louise was born on March 12, 1936 in Bentley, OK. She was raised in the East Allison, Bentley, and Blackjack communities. After serving her country for many years as a Marine Corps spouse, she worked full time while she studied and graduated as a registered nurse. She became a respected coronary care nurse and was a Nurse Case Manager for the OK State Employees Insurance Board. She attended the Sallisaw Church of Christ.

Louise was the devoted daughter of Carl and Katie Callicoat. She was the younger sister to Charles Callicoat. She was the loving mother of Ann Daffin Anderson and her husband, Lloyd, and of Michael Daffin and his wife Denise, and Will Daffin. She was the adored Nana to Eve Anderson Smiley, Ben Anderson, Grant Daffin, Conner Daffin, Jennifer Bailey, and Jarrod Cassady. She was the proud great-grandmother of Emily and Noah Anderson, of Jacob, Cy, Annabelle, and Jeffrey Smiley, and of Sloane Daffin. She was the sweet aunt to Alvanell Morris, Chock McDaniel, Ruel McDaniel, Lola Irion, Phil McDaniel, Terry Callicoat, Alan Callicoat, Donna Callicoat Ledford, Ellis Callicoat, Julia Cole, Stella Mooney, and Gradie Ann Simmons.

Louise was an exceptional human being on all levels and overcame many obstacles in her life with determination and class. She was kind and she was good. She relished having fun with her grandchildren and she was their greatest cheerleader from sports and other activities to adventures in Australia and England. She was an avid gardener, doted on her poodles and left us many beautiful pieces of crochet. Late in life, she endured the ravages of dementia. Now she has her well deserved rest and peace. She is our beloved.

The family expresses their deepest gratitude to the staff at Vian Nursing Home and Elara Hospice for their loving care of our mother. Thank you to Chaplain Clyde Hess for your spiritual care.

Graveside memorial services will be held at Bentley Cemetery, near Atoka, OK on Satuday, March 27, 2021 at 10:00 am.
