Funeral Service for Gary Noel Sailors, 86 of Vian, Oklahoma will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Vian, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on February 10, 1935 in Palisade, NE to Laura Lucille (Brown) Sailors and Colonel Noel Sailors and passed away on November 14, 2021 in Vian, Oklahoma. Mr. Sailors attended grade school at West River View School and attended high school in Wylie, Colorado. After high school, his family moved to Lamar, CO. Gary served his Army training in Fort Bliss in 1956, tested for Morse Code and graduated Top of the Class having attained the Chief Field Position in Morse Code while serving in Italy. He moved to Oklahoma City where he lived for 50 years. He worked as a timekeeper for ACME Brick in Oklahoma City, as a pay phone repairman for Bell Telephone and retired as Parts Order Supervisor for Southwestern Bell, all while being accompanied by his beloved dog. He lived in Fort Smith, AR for a short time before moving to Vian, Oklahoma. Mr. Sailors was a 70 year member of the Church of Christ and a current member of Westside Church of Christ in Vian.

Daughter: Jan Holmes Gregory and Steve of Mountainburg, AR;

Son: Jeff Holmes of Fort Smith, AR;

Grandchildren: Jennifer Kuykendall of Fort Smith, AR and Hayden Walker and Shannon of Lincoln, AR;

Great-grandchild: Marcus Kurkendall of Fort Smith, AR;

Brother: John Sailors and Prescilla of Lamar, CO;

Nephew: Chad and Kayla of Lamar, CO and niece: Tara and Greg of Lamar, CO and their families;

His oldest friend: Gene Seimens of Clarksville, AR;

His church member family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Billy Sailors and grandson: Marcus Kuykendall, II.

Active Pallbearers will be John Ford, Jarred Johnson, Sean Garrison, Ted Taylor, Garrett Ford and Robert Young.

Honorary Pallbearers will be employees and staff of Vian Nursing Home.

Viewing will be noon – 8 pm Tuesday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw where the family will greet 6 – 8 pm.

The family sends a special thank you to Vian Nursing Home and Dr. C. Patrick Sullivan.
