Graveside Service for Gaylon Lee Poindexter, 55, of Gans, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at Akins Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
He was born on January 11, 1967 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to June (Metheny) Poindexter and Clifford Poindexter and passed away on June 26, 2022 in Gans, Oklahoma. He was married to Ava Lee (Waggoner) Poindexter on December 7, 1992 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was formerly the Assistant Manager for Car – Mart and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors are:
wife, Ava of the home;
3 sons, Brent Cox of McCurtain, OK, Logan Poindexter of Gans, OK and twin brother, Hunter Poindexter of Gans, OK;
2 daughters, Chelsea Cheeks and Riley Poindexter, both of Fort Smith, AR;
2 grandchildren, Elaina Cheeks and Emmett Cheeks;
brother, Byron Poindexter of Gans, OK;
and several other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Viewing will be 10 AM – 8 PM Tuesday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK where the family will greet 6 -8 PM.
