Graveside Service for BMCM Harold "Chief" Rodgers, 83, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at Sallisaw City Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on February 1, 1941 in Irving, Texas to Eula Mae (White) Rodgers and Floyd Henry Rodgers and passed away on August 31, 2024 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He was married to Valerie (Fishburn) Rodgers on April 16, 1965 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Harold was a retired Boatswain's Mate Master Chief Petty Officer in the United States Coast Guard and of the Christian faith. Once retiring from the Coast Guard, after 26 years, Harold held several jobs/titles: semi-truck driver, race car driver, master mechanic, "Mr. Fix It" for anyone who needed help, professional landscaper of his own property, but his favorite job title was being "Papa" to his grandkids and great-grandkids.

Survivors are wife, Valerie of the home; three daughters, Sheryl Rudick and James of Vici, OK, Debbie Fargo and Jamie of Sallisaw, OK and Kristi Smith and David of Sallisaw, OK; one son, Mark Rodgers of Sallisaw, OK; six grandchildren, Nicholas Rudick, Patrick Rudick, Ethan Fargo, Garrett and wife, Britton Fargo, Jessica Fargo and Brody Smith; two great-grandchildren, Kadence Connelly and Cale, and Clayton Ridge Fargo; three sisters, Cathy Regan and Rick of Springfield, IL, Sarah Burghard and Jimmy of Wichita, KS and Linda Crowl of Wichita, KS; and several other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Dorothy Kollman; and one brother, Sonny Rodgers.

Active Pallbearers will be Nicholas Rudick, Patrick Rudick, Ethan Fargo, Garrett Fargo, Brody Smith and Kendall Marley. 

Honorary Pallbearers will be James Rudick, Jamie Fargo, David Smith, Bob Steiner and Archie Risenhoover. 

Viewing will be 10 AM - 8 PM Wednesday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK where the family will greet 6 - 8 PM.
