Hubert Dewane Townsend

Hubert Dewane Townsend, age 87, of Muldrow, Oklahoma, passed away on February 18, 2025, in Muldrow, Oklahoma. He was born on June 26, 1937, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, to Dollie Ruth (Walker) Townsend and Truman Britton Townsend.

Hubert was known for his deep love of family and faith. He shared a cherished union with Carolyn S. Townsend, whom he married on November 20, 1964, in Miami, Oklahoma. Carolyn preceded him in death on October 20, 2020, leaving behind a legacy of love and support that Hubert held dear throughout his life.

Hubert is survived by his daughter, Amanda Cantrell and Jeffery of Muldrow, OK; his two sons, David Townsend and Kimberly of Republic, MO, and John Townsend and Marilyn of Alton, MO; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; his sister, Virgie Buttery of Broken Arrow, OK; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends whose lives he touched with kindness.

Hubert embraced a variety of hobbies and interests. He enjoyed crocheting, indulging in western movies, and fishing with his grandchildren. He looked forward to Mexican food on Sundays and fish on Fridays. Church held a special place in Hubert's heart, and he valued his church family dearly, attending services whenever the doors were open.

Hubert paved his path as a truck driver and also contributed to his community as a cashier at Easy Mart in Muldrow and a server at Jerry Neal's BBQ, demonstrating his strong work ethic and commitment to service.

Hubert was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Rita Caughman; a sister, Linda Sue McCullum; four brothers, Clarence, Travis, Gerald, and Jackie Townsend; one grandson, David Townsend, Jr. and one great-grandchild, Owen Cantrell.

Funeral Service for Hubert will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow, Oklahoma, with burial to follow at Liberty Cemetery in Muldrow, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc. Viewing will take place on Sunday, February 23, 2025, from 2 PM to 8 PM where the family will greet 6 - 8 PM at the funeral home in Muldrow.

Active Pallbearers will be Jacob Cantrell, Aaron Cantrell, David Townsend, Jerry Thibodeaux, Levi Townsend and Ronnie Thibodeaux.
