Ira Eugene "Butch" Rolston

Ira Eugene "Butch" Rolston, age 78, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, was born on December 27, 1946, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Katherine (Dever) Rolston and Charlie Cecil Rolston. He departed this life peacefully on February 12, 2025, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family and cherished memories.

Butch's journey began at Vian High School, from which he graduated before joining the United States Army and bravely serving in Vietnam as a Combat Radio Operator. He met the love of his life, Kathy Davis in 1966. They were united in marriage eight months later, on July 5, 1967, in the Blackgum community.

Throughout his life, Butch dedicated himself to his family and his career. He worked diligently as an inhalation therapy technician at Muskogee Hospital while pursuing his education and graduating from Northeastern State University. His commitment to public service extended beyond the medical field as he served honorably for five years as a Tulsa Police Officer before joining the U.S. Treasury as a Special Agent, from which he retired with distinguished honors.

Butch leaves behind his beloved wife, Kathy. He was the proud father of one daughter, Heather Martinez and her husband Victor of Austin, Texas; and one son, Shawn Rolston and his wife Ashley of Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He adored his ten grandchildren: Stephanie, Randy, Nikki, Gracie, Chance, Haley, Ethan, Madison, Adyn, and Kadyn and ten great-grandchildren: Aiden, Avalon, Avery, Tabre, Tyde, Bowen, Bralen, Everleigh, Creed, and Scottie, all of whom brightened his days.

He was preceded in death by his twin sons, Patrick and Gene; his parents; his brother, Eldon; and his nephew, Wayne.

For those wishing to pay their respects, viewing will be held on Saturday from 10 AM to 6 PM, and on Sunday from 2 PM to 8 PM, at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, where the family will greet visitors from 3 PM to 5 PM on Sunday.

A funeral service honoring Butch's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 17, 2025, at the First Assembly of God Church in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, followed by a burial at Box Cemetery in Vian, Oklahoma, under the guidance of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

Active pallbearers will include Randy Rolston, Chance Rolston, Steve Rolston, Kenneth Holloway, Steve Davis and Jerry Watts. Honorary pallbearers will be Victor Martinez, Ethan Martinez, Reese Pilkington, Brian Kugal, Blake Buttery, Loyd Latta, Josh Rolston, and Terry Taylor.

While Butch has left this earthly realm, his spirit, love, and dedication will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
