Irene (Coleman) Qualls

Funeral Service for Irene “Nan” Coleman Qualls, 90, of Nicut, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 29, 2023 at Belfonte Baptist Church in Muldrow, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Seabolt Cemetery in Muldrow, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

She was born on June 4, 1933 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Eliza (Daugherty) Coleman and Jim Coleman and passed away on December 22, 2023 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was married to Cecil Qualls. She was a retired cook at Belfonte Public Schools and a member of Belfonte Baptist Church. She was a proud full-blood member of Cherokee Nation and a First Speaker of the Cherokee language.

Survivors are daughter, Rose Fowler of Huntsville, AR; son, Teddy Qualls and Carolyn of Nicut, OK; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Stevie Coleman of Mineola, TX and David Coleman of Hanson, OK; one sister, Linda Bobbitt of Roland, OK; and several other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Qualls; parents, Jim and Eliza Coleman; two sons, Clyde and Cecil Jr. Qualls; and one grandson, Brian Qualls.

Active Pallbearers will be Josh Brown, Glen Qualls, Jr., Kodie Benge, Bryce Qualls, Cooper Qualls and Fisher Qualls.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Glen Qualls, Sr.

Viewing will be 10 AM – 8 PM Thursday at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Muldrow, OK where the family will greet 6 – 8 PM.
