Obituaries

Funeral Service for Irene (Sunagoowie) Stockard, 74, of Notchietown, Oklahoma will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Cedar Springs Baptist Church in Gore, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Webber Cemetery in Gore, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

She was born on January 18, 1948 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Ella (Tecumseh) Sunagoowie and Jack Sunagoowie and passed away on August 30, 2022 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She was married to Walter Dewayne Stockard on March 16, 1993 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on September 3, 2019. She worked in home health and was a truck driver. Irene was an avid runner and completed several marathons. She was a member of Blood Bought Church.

Survivors are:

1 daughter, Trinia Gentry and Kevin of Sallisaw, OK;

2 sons, Thomas Harvell, Jr. of Sallisaw, OK and Kevin Harvell and Dianna of Vian, OK;

9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren;

1 brother, Jack Sunagoowie and Debbie of Sand Springs, OK;

1 sister, Esther Pearman and Frank of Hutchinson, KS;

and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three sisters, Frances Spurgeon, Betty Ingle and Geneva Smith; and two brothers, Tex Sunagoowie and John Ray Sunagoowie.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Gentry, Jimmy Leaf Jr., Gabriel Harvell, Anthony Bannister, Auhstin Gronquist and Donnie Leaf.

Viewing will be 10 AM – 8 PM Tuesday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, OK.
