Iva Isabel Morgan-Ellis, 86, of Muldrow passed away peacefully in her home Sunday, September 3, 2017. She was born December 22, 1930 in Muldrow Oklahoma to the late Thomas Manuel Morgan and Ora Mae Richards. She had been married to the love of her life, Robert (Bob) James Ellis, for fifty years on his passing in September 2000. She was also preceded in death by one brother Warren Kenneth Morgan also of Muldrow.
She is survived by four sons, Richard Paul (Cathy) of Conway, Arkansas, Randy James of Muldrow, Russell Lynn (Holly) of Moore Oklahoma, and Roger Glenn (Charlotte) also of Muldrow, two sisters Kaye Franks (Ronnie) of Poteau, Oklahoma and Faye Sharp of Muldrow. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, Matt, Ben, Kellie, Aaron, Amy, Ryan, Morgen, Elizabeth, Lillie, Sam, Donald, Mary and 6 great grandchildren Claire, Chloe, Tyler, Robert, Seth, and Brent.
Iva and Robert spent the first thirteen years of their lives together seeing the country and the world courtesy of the U.S. Army including three years in France and numerous states from Maryland to California. After his retirement in 1962 they moved back to Muldrow where they lived out the remainder of their lives.
Iva spent many years with J.C. Penney in Fort Smith and worked at several businesses around Muldrow and Roland. Her husband Bob would serve as Muldrow’s Fire Chief for 20 years.
After retiring from their civilian jobs Iva spent the rest of her years doing what she loved most, taking care of Bob, reading, gardening, doing crossword puzzles and watching and feeding the birds.
She will always be remembered as a loving mother and a devoted wife. The family would like to thank all of the many friends and family who cared for her and befriended her after her husband passed and her health began to fail.
Iva was a member of the First Baptist Church of Muldrow.
